VT Report is a simple file-based spreadsheet program.
Making Tax Digital (MTD) features allow the following data to be submitted directly from a spreadsheet to HMRC:
•Quarterly updates of income and expenditure (MTD for Income Tax)
Therefore, VT Report can be used as bridging software if you use a third-party bookkeeping program that is not MTD compatible, or you keep your records on spreadsheets.
Furthermore, any report in VT Transaction+/VT Cash Book can be imported to VT Report by choosing the Export to VT Report command from the Edit menu in VT Transaction+/VT Cash Book.
Regardless of whether you require the MTD features, VT Report is a very useful spreadsheet in its own right, featuring a range of formulas, functions and conditional formatting options that will be familiar to you if you have used other spreadsheet programs. Data can easily be imported to a VT Report spreadsheet from Excel files (xlsx), CSV files (.csv) and text files (.txt).
If you do not require the MTD features, VT Report is free of charge.
