VT Transaction+ does not have stock control features. You cannot record the quantity of stock but you can record the financial amount.
The simplest way to account for stocks in VT Transaction+ is to value your stocks at the end of each period for which you are preparing accounts. The valuation should be based on the lower of cost or net realisable value (NRV).
To enter the change in the value of stock
1.Choose the Transaction > Journal > Trial Balance Style command (or click on the down button just to the right of the JRN button on the main toolbar).
2.Enter the last day of your accounting period.
3.Enter the value of your stocks in the After column on the Stocks: Finished goods row.
4.Hold down the Shift key and click on the Cost of sales: Decrease/increase in stocks row in either of the last two columns. This enters a balancing amount against this account.
5.Click the Save button.
