Importing journals using the Universal Input Sheet

Scroll Prev Top Next More

Although you can import journals from a spreadsheet using the standard journal import function, you can also do so using the Universal Input Sheet.

Using the Universal Input Sheet has the added benefit

To import JRN/RJN transactions

1.In your spreadsheet, lay out the journal in the exact format shown in the example in Journal type transactions (including the header), and save this as a CSV file.

2.In VT Transaction+, click on the Universal Input Sheet button:

UIS_button

3.Select Import from: CSV File / Text File and choose the CSV file containing the journal (or copy the data directly from the file then go back to the Import screen and select Import from: Clipboard).

Click OK, then OK again.

4.The journal appears on the Universal Input Sheet. If you need to change anything at this point, amend it directly on the sheet. Otherwise, click Post.

Alternatively, you can carry out steps 1 and 2, then copy and paste the data from the CSV file to Universal Input Sheet using the copy/paste commands that appear when right-clicking.
