| VT Transaction cannot be started/ message about Autoexec.nt file | ||||||||||||||||||
|
The above message occurs when the windows system file, autoexec.nt has been deleted. This file is needed to run older 16 bit programs such as VT Transaction. The most likely cause of the file being deleted is a rogue program such as a virus, spyware or adware. This issue was only first reported in September 2004. To resolve this issue, simply copy the file Autoexec.nt from your C:\Windows\Repair folder to your C:\Windows\System32 folder using My Computer/ Windows Explorer. Some users have reported that autoexec.nt is being deleted every time their PC is started. Setting the read-only attribute resolves this problem. You can run a small repairer program to carry out the above tasks automatically by clicking here and then choosing the Open or Run option when prompted. In some circumstances and if you have an old installation of VT, the above repairer program will not run. In this case you need to install the repairer program fully and then try again. To install fully, click here and then choose the Open or Run option when prompted.
