Exporting accounts data to tax software packages
Self assessment accounts data for unincorporated businesses can be sent to tax software packages from either VT Final Accounts or VT Transaction+. Data can be sent from any business in VT Transaction+, regardless of the chart of accounts set up.

Ease of use
Sending data is very easy (you just have to choose the Send To Tax Package command or button) and is far quicker than typing the numbers into your tax package again.

Categories of data
You can choose to transmit some or all of the following categories of data:

  • Profit and loss account
  • Balance sheet
  • Disallowable expenses (from VT Transaction+ only)
  • It is also possible to transmit disallowable expenses from Excel, but the templates supplied with VT Final Accounts are not pre-formatted with this information.

All categories of data can in fact be transmitted from any Excel workbook, and not just from workbooks based on the VT templates.

    Standard Name Format
Standard Name Format is a vendor and tax year independent method of transmitting accounts data to tax software packages. Standard Name Format has been developed and promoted by VT Software in conjunction with tax software vendors.

    Tax packages supported
Data can be transmitted to the tax packages listed below. If your package is not listed below, ask the vendor to implement a Standard Name Format import facility. The vendor can find full technical details on the web at www.vtsoftware.co.uk/snf
