IT Usage in Accountancy Practices
2004 Research Report by the ICAEW - Rating of Accounts Production software:
VT Final Accounts

 

  • VT Final Accounts had a higher rating for reliability than any other accounts production package. Ease of use, performance and support were rated second only to IRIS, a much more expensive package *
     
  • Respondents reported a zero failure rate for VT Final Accounts. 10% of IRIS users reported that IRIS had failed in a business critical sense in the previous 2 years
     
  • 98% of VT Final Accounts users stated they had no plans to replace the software with another product in the next 5 years. No other package had a better intended retention rate.

702 IT decision makers in practice offices in England & Wales were interviewed by telephone during July & August 2004. Practices interviewed were broadly representative of the overall size of Accountancy practices. The research was managed by the Institute's Members and Market Research Centre for the IT Faculty, and conducted by TNS, an independent market research company.
