About VT Software
VT Software is owned and managed by Philip Hodgson. VT Software is dedicated to producing easy to use and inexpensive bookkeeping and accounts production software. VT Software is committed to remaining an independent company. The company has offices in Chiswick, West London.
The VT Accounts suite was first launched in 1997 and rapidly became popular. This encouraged the company to invest in an improved version which was released in 1998.
In the years following, its position as one of the leading accounts production packages was further enhanced by a series of surveys by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. The last survey in 2011 found both VT Final Accounts and VT Transaction+ to be the best performing products in their respective categories.
In 2009, the old VT Transaction was replaced by VT Transaction+ and major improvements were made to VT Final Accounts.
In 2011, VT Final Accounts was upgraded to produce iXBRL format accounts as required by HMRC. After the introduction of iXBRL, sales increased almost overnight by 40% to 50%. VT appeared to have been one of only a few vendors who managed to make generating iXBRL accounts a simple push button process, despite the underlying complexity of iXBRL. The following comment on AccountingWeb summed up the success of the product:
"I've just read all the above posts and am so glad that when I gave up on PTP that I went to VT. I'd looked at Digita but VT is soooooooo simple. None of that waiting for ages milarky, I just press the button for ixbrl accounts and b*gger me, there they are."
